A Note from the Owner of Mountain Girl Organics

Thanks for visiting our website. From the beginning our company has been a family investment. My husband Scott is as hands on as I am and makes many of the products along side me (or often on his own). The big boys can often be found packing bath fizzies or labeling.  Little Sam is in charge of smelling everything and serves as quality control. The best part of having a soap company and teenage boys is now they have no excuse to smell bad! It’s fun to see them take pride in the process and business when they have friends over and instantly become ‘soap experts’. We all have endearing adventurous spirits that pulls us to the back country of the Rocky Mountains for boarding and skiing, rocking climbing, biking and other adventures that make us fitting representatives of Mountain Girl Organics.

  • Value & Quality: MGO continues to grow and can be found in numerous boutiques and gift stores from Colorado to California. With this growth comes the responsibility to continue to provide our customers with the high quality product they are accustom to. We take this seriously and do our best to cultivate great relationships with our customers. And although we could cut corners to improve our bottom line we continue to source organic and fair-trade ingredients that are of the highest quality.
  • Our Partners: We recently began buying our Shea Butter from Global Mamas‘.  This enables us to buy directly from the women in Ghana, Africa that harvest and produce the Shea Butter that you love.    “For these women, harvesting shea nuts and producing shea butter is one of the few ways they can help support their families. Through the export of Global Mamas Pure Shea, numerous women are increasing their incomes substantially and receiving more consistent work throughout the year. The additional income flowing into this poverty-stricken area in northern Ghana is also impacting the lives many poor people throughout the region. “~Taken from the Global Mama’s website.  Click here to read about one of the amazing women who bring you this magical butter

  • How We Give Back: The entire family at Mountain Girl Organics is deeply honored to give a portion of our sales to the Vail Veterans Program. The program offers adapted outdoor activities for wounded vets returning from Iraq and Afghanistan. Two members of the Mountain Girl Organics family have served in the U.S. Army. Scott was one of the first to be deployed to Iraq in early 2003 and returned in late 2004.  My oldest son, Brandon was also enlisted in the U.S. Army, unfortunately Brandon passed away in 2010.  However in 2007 his adventurous spirit lead him to the summit of  Mt. Elbrus (18,500ft) in Russia. We feel strongly that the Vail Veterans Program represents Brandon’s passions and we are proud to be able to support their mission to improve the quality of those who have risked their lives for our country.
